Just as promised, another South By Southwest has come to an end and the thousands of panelists, musicians and music enthusiasts have (thankfully) gone home.

Austin has endured a week of chaos, thunderstorms, music venue shutdowns and dense crowds throughout downtown. Friday, arguably the most exciting day of the conference, brought threats of a hailstorm that resulted in showcase cancellations around the city, including Fader Fort. 2Chainz’s Beer n’ Tacos Showcase at Austin Music Hall was also shutdown, after a mob rushed security and a firearm was detected. Regardless, other indoor showcases continued on and Saturday brought little to no drama, despite the huge crowds that dominated Sixth Street and the Red River District.
We’ve been left with streets caked with laminated flyers and forgotten mixtapes, a substantially less packed highway and photographs to commemorate the 30th anniversary of this homegrown festival. Reminisce over last week with ORANGE’s coverage of the music portion of SXSW.
