- The Hunger Games trilogy
You’re into the classics. But, to be fair, this trilogy was our childhood, so it’s hard not to be a favorite. “I volunteer as tribute” was the phrase of our time. Dystopian action and love triangles are probably your thing, but you’re probably cool with that. Katniss Everdeen will forever be in our hearts, and Keeta (Katniss and Peeta) will always be end game. (Sorry, Gale fans).
- The Fault in Our Stars
This book is probably one of the most depressing romances of all time. If this one is your favorite, then you’re a fan of sappy romance. The characters are also a bit angsty, but you’re into it. It’s the race against time and love; impossible to outrun them both. They’re also book nerds, aka you. As you read the book, you couldn’t help but root for these angsty, in love book nerds who captivated your heart.
- The Lunar Chronicles series
This one is my personal favorites, as the book includes genres of action, adventure, fantasy, sci-fi, romance and comedy. Therefore, if you’ve read this one and liked it, I don’t blame you. You enjoy a strong female character who stays humble and doesn’t back down. You’re also really into sci-fi, as cyborgs and the powerful livable Luna, aka the moon. Also, you appreciate a good fairytale, with the Cinder series taking a modern twist on our childhood princesses. All you want in life is a “Happily Ever After.”
- The Lightning Thief
This one is for all the mythology nerds out there. Percy Jackson was your childhood favorite growing up, and maybe you’ll never grow out of it. So who can blame you when there’s an iconic friend trio who tries to solve the issues from their dysfunctional mythological families, along with the troubles of coming of age. Deep inside, you wish you were one of them too, don’t you? Yet, which mythological power? It’s hard to choose.
- They Both Die at the End
If you put depression and romance in a blender, it would be this book. But honestly, if this is your favorite book, it must be because of the iconic gay romance, or you just love being sad. You definitely appreciate YA novels, especially those centered on the LGBTQ+ community, and we need more of you. But, even if it was sad, you still appreciated the cute moments between the two male protagonists. #Mateo&RufusForever.
- Harry Potter series
Hello Potterheads! You’re just dying to know my sorting house. That or you’re rewatching the series on HBO Max for the hundredth time. Yet, maybe you prefer the books over the movies, which is valid. Either way, you’re a big fan of magic and fantasy. Halloween is the best time of the year for you, having dressed up as your sorting house at least once. Oh, to run away to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters and never return. (BTW, I’m a Ravenclaw).
