SXSW’s Film Festival kicks off March 10, exhibiting numerous world premieres and featuring red carpet events with rising cinematic talent. Film badge holders will be given a first glimpse at these pictures. The movies will eventually be released for worldwide audiences, but not before they are reviewed by ORANGE Magazine. Below is a selection of five headlining films that will premiere at the festival.

“ATOMIC BLONDE”

Starring Charlize Theron, “Atomic Blonde” tells the tale of an undercover MI6 in Berlin during the Cold War. The story follow Theron’s character’s investigation of a dead partner and list of double-agents. Director David Leitch’s mystery thriller will premiere on March 12 at the Paramount Theater in downtown Austin. Other cast members include Sofia Boutella, James McAvoy and John Goodman.
“SMALL TOWN CRIME”

Starring John Hawkes and Octavia Spencer, “Small Town Crime” tells the story of an ex-cop (Hawkes) who becomes obsessed with finding the killer of a dead body he stumbles upon. His investigation inevitably puts his sister (Spencer) in danger. Directors Ian and Eshom Nelms’ crime thriller will premiere on March 11 at the Paramount Theater in downtown Austin and will continue to be exhibited on March 12 at the Long Center’s Rollins Theater.
“DRIB”

In this Norwegian fiction/documentary hybrid, Amir Asgharnejad re-enacts the violent marketing campaign of an energy drink whose name was changed for legal reasons in “DRIB.” Director Kristoffer Borgli’s dramedy will premiere on March 11 at Alamo Drafthouse Lamar and will continue to be exhibited on March 13 at Alamo Drafthouse Ritz.
“SIGNATURE MOVE”

Starring Fawzia Mirza and Sari Sanchez, “Signature Move” explores a modern romance composed of many identities. The film follows the queer romance of a Pakistani lawyer (Mirza) who falls in love with a Mexican-American woman (Sanchez). Director Jennifer Reeder’s romantic drama will premiere on March 11 at at Alamo Drafthouse Lamar and will continue to be exhibited on March 13 at Stateside Theater.
“LIFE”

Perhaps the most anticipated film of the entire festival, “Life” follows the terrifying journey of astronauts who discover life forms on Mars—only they also discover what caused Mars’ mass extinction. Director Daniel Espinosa’s sci-fi horror film stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson. “Life” premieres on March 18 at the Zach Theater. The film’s cast also includes Ryan Reynolds, Hiroyuki Sanada and Olga Dihovichnaya.
