The gift of life is beautiful, but it’s also very hard on the body. Despite the difficulties of bearing a child, women may maintain their normal commitments. Some women, however, take this to a whole new level. Here’s a look at a few popular pregnant ladies who are still getting their jobs done.
Beyonce
Queen Bey’s second pregnancy shocked the world. The social media post announcing her pregnancy has broken the record for the most liked Instagram photo of all time. The news that she and her husband Jay Z were having twins remained the topic of conversation for days, and was even the theme of a competition at the University of Texas at Austin.
Despite being pregnant with twins, the singer performed at the Grammys, where it was rumored that she was around five months into her pregnancy. Though her due date hasn’t been announced, the star has been considerably more public with this pregnancy in comparison to the birth of her first child, Blue Ivy.
Irina Shayk
The Russian model’s pregnancy with actor Bradley Cooper, her current boyfriend of two years, hasn’t caught too many eyes. Shayk raised a few eyebrows when she walked the runway in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in lingerie that carefully covered her midriff. Rumors speculated that she was already showing at the fashion show, though her baby bump went mostly unnoticed. Irina Shayk allegedly gave birth earlier this month, according to E! News and People Magazine, as reported by USA Today. This pregnancy was both secretive and professional.
Camilla Luddington
Mostly known for her portrayal of Jo Wilson on the long-running medical drama, “Grey’s Anatomy,” Luddington admitted to Fit Pregnancy and Baby Magazine that it was becoming difficult to conceal her bump back in February. “My character on the show, as of right now, is not pregnant, so I have to make sure I don’t rub my belly on camera,” Luddington said. The actress also revealed that her unborn child seemed to like Beyonce’s music because every time she played it, her baby kicked. The actress gave birth earlier this month.
Dana Vollmer
Dana Vollmer, a seven-time Olympic medalist, raced in a USA swimming meet in Arizona this month at 26 weeks pregnant. Remarkably, she finished 55th out of 83 swimmers with a time of 27.51 seconds. The swimmer says she was just happy to participate. “Time didn’t matter. Places didn’t matter. I’ve loved being here. I loved seeing all my teammates, all the people from Rio,” Vollmer said to media outlets in Arizona.
Vollmer hopes to train throughout as much of her pregnancy as possible and begin training for the 2020 Olympics quickly. Her enthusiasm and athleticism in her sport, especially with child, solidifies her role as a super mom.
Serena Williams
Serena Williams accidentally revealed her pregnancy through a Snapchat photo with the caption “20 weeks” on Apr. 20. The news was greeted on social media platforms with awe and excitement for the tennis pro’s future. Fans emphasized the fact that Williams was about 8 weeks pregnant when she won the Australian Open and, even more notably, didn’t lose a single set. Williams is also engaged to Alexis Ohanian, the father of her child and co-founder of Reddit.
