If you are craving any of the following fried foods, you can check them out until the fair closes on Oct. 22.
Deep Fried Chicken Noodle Soup on a Stick
If you have ever craved the taste of home, but somehow found yourself at a giant statewide carnival instead, you’re in luck! A new featured food of the BigTex Choice Awards, these savory skewers are served with a side of traditional liquid soup. While this may sound like it defies the laws of physics, this dish is truly amazing. The logical way to make chicken noodle soup better is to put it on a stick.
Funnel Cake Bacon Queso Burger
You will no longer face the dilemma of choosing dinner over dessert, because at the fair, now you can have both. Thanks to this creation, you can get a juicy burger smothered in queso, with the added bonus of funnel cake. It will combine all your favorite meals in one.
Oreo Beer
“Oreo” and “beer” are two words many people would probably never imagine in the same sentence, much less the same drink. However, this drink is popular at the fair. Dipping oreos in milk is normal, so it might be worth it to dip America’s favorite cookie into beer instead.
Tamale Donut
If there’s one cuisine that is popular in Texas, it is Mexican food. It is only natural that we would make this cuisine even more Texan and deep fry it. Now you can get a taste of the Mexican food you love, with the fried magic that makes everything taste better.
Deep Fried Froot Loops
This treat may not have been created with Toucan Sam’s blessing! This dessert combines the classic breakfast cereal with marshmallow fluff and a crispy outer shell. You certainly won’t have to worry about your cereal getting too soggy since this dessert is warm and gooey, perhaps the greatest thing on Earth.
Cookie Fries
These are perfect for anyone who is tired of the same-old potato french fries and circular cookies. You can spice things up by getting cookie fries at the fair, which involve throwing cookie dough in the deep fryer. This fun dessert is served with chocolate and strawberry dipping sauces.
Chicken Fried Cactus Bites
Nothing says Southwestern fine-dining like some tasty cactus. Thin slices of prickly pear cactus are fried in chicken batter and served with jalapeño ranch and an agave nectar dipping sauce. In case you were ever curious about what the thorny plant tastes like, you can try it in its best form: deep fried.
