Swoon-worthy outfit ideas, job envy and witty humor. Honestly, these Instagrams have all you can really ask for when scrolling through your Instagram feed.
Story by Kendall Abelman
Fashion means something different to everyone. Sometimes we take our style way too seriously, and other times, we walk out of the door after throwing an outfit together in five minutes. (Sweatpants, we love you.) Like fashion, Instagram also means something different to everyone. Some go on the app to see pictures of their friends and fancy lattes, or, in our case, to see sick style to take our closets to a new level.
These five style-based “Instagrammers” create content that will make you want to wear a fur vest, leather pants and funky platforms all at once.
Reese Blutstein – @double3xposure
Reese Blutstein, a 21-year-old blogger based in Atlanta, never fails to make us question all of our outfit choices because hers are just SO good. Her style is bold, yet approachable (expect graphics tees and vintage Levis galore). Mostly all of her pieces are vintage, but she does feature brands like Pixie Market and Reformation. While her feed includes mostly outfit pictures, we’d love to be her best friend (and share her closet, of course) because we love her transparency and approach to fashion. Also, how can you not be living for this all mustard outfit?
Leandra Medine Cohen – @leandramcohen
Leandra (Medine) Cohen is the founder of Man Repeller, a humorous fashion-focused editorial website so you can only imagine how great her Instagram is. Her outfit combinations are unparalleled and she takes some solid mirror selfies like the one seen above. Her captions are hilarious (for example, this post’s caption was “Go home Steve”…brilliant, right?) and they are worth the follow just as much as her outfits. If you are into mismatched high fashion, Leandra is your girl.
Alyssa Coscarelli – @alyssainthecity
Alyssa Coscarelli is the Fashion Market editor at Refinery29 and she does not take this title lightly. Considering she has access to the best fashion while it is hot, her outfits and her styling skills do not disappoint. She posts about everything from Nike, Aritzia and Celine to travel and food pics (hello, Sri Lanka), which honestly makes her Instagram that much better. Not to mention, she owns the most beautiful white blouses and she even coined the hashtag #loveagoodwhitetop.
Phillip Picardi – @pfpicardi
Phillip Picardi’s Instagram is everything you could hope for from the digital editorial director at Teen Vogue and Allure. While he probably does not consider himself a fashion icon (fit pics do not dominate his feed), he definitely should — check out this leather tracksuit. Even though his platform is not specifically style-based, he posts his event outfits which include anything from a pale pink suit to a colorblock sweater. Style aside, his posts always send a positive voice into the world, whether it be for LGBTQ rights or career inspiration.
Eva Chen – @evachen212
Eva Chen, former editor-in-chief of Lucky magazine and beauty and health director at Teen Vogue, is one of the biggest names in fashion right now. Currently, as the director of Fashion Partnerships at Instagram, she posts just about every moment of her day from waking up her adorable son Tao every morning to fancy office snacks. You will get hooked on her Instagram stories, we promise. She makes being a mother of two and a style enthusiast effortless and admirable. Her outfits range anywhere from taking her daughter to school in boyfriend jeans to wearing the most elegant dresses to fashion shows.
These are only five of the many style Instagrammers out there, so the inspiration possibilities are truly endless. Whether you use Instagram as a platform or any other media, fashion is everywhere. Your closet will thank you. Your wallet will not.
