Winter is upon us and even while it may not feel like it here in Texas, there is always a chance for a chilly day here and there.
Winter jackets are an added layer of style and can make an outfit come together. Whether you are edgy, classy or anything in between, there is always a winter jacket that speaks to your soul.
ORANGE Style staff have compiled some of their favorite winter jackets for the season and what makes their pieces unique. It may be a bit warm right now, but you will thank us when the cold front hits.
Kendall – Faux Shearling Biker Jacket ($79)
I tend to play it safe with my winter coats by typically buying black just because I value versatility. This biker jacket is absolutely perfect because it looks so comfortable and the touch of red is a game changer.

Liam – Comme Des Garçons X Nike Polyester Taffeta Hooded Jacket ($475)
Being a Japanese-American, Comme des Garçon is a brand that I hold close to my heart. Surprisingly, I don’t own a black jacket so this would make a necessary edition to my closet.

Sara – Short Puffer Jacket ($69)
I love this jacket because it’s a classic style, but a bold color. It’s cool-toned for winter but will add a fun metallic element to cold weather outfits!

Brandon – Junya Watanbe Man X The North Face Down Jacket ($685)
For me, I’m concerned with practicality over style when it comes to winter coats. Yet, with this down jacket you get a good mix of both. With durable and highly technical fabrics, plus the stylish accents of the North Face logo, this jacket is functional and fashionable and would be a great addition to my rotation.

Alexis – Gingham Thing Blazer ($68)
My love for the cold makes me very impractical when it comes to winter wear. Since I usually stray away from heavy coats, this long blazer is the perfect jacket. With its neutral colors, the gingham piece is a fun way to add pattern to any outfit while channeling your inner Cher Horowitz. My closet is also in desperate need of “adult clothes” and this blazer can easily go from casually stylish to “I’m kinda professional.”

Rylan – Rick Owens Black Leather Geo Harness Bomber Jacket ($1927)
The term “winter coat” means something different for us Texans: I’m fine reaching for a lightweight leather jacket and maybe a sweater if I need it when the weather gets extra chilly. This sheep leather bomber from Rick Owens Fall/Winter ’16 is the latest addition to my collection and it’s quickly becoming my favorite piece. I love this one in particular because it’s not quite as crazy as a lot of Rick pieces, so you can wear it with a wider variety of styles without much trouble. The hidden pockets on the sleeve and back make a nice stash for small winter time goodies like gloves or lip balm.
