Circa Survive threw an incredibly nostalgia-inspiring dance party at Emo’s. Frontman, Anthony Green, emphasized to the audience, “We can legitimately say that we love you…it’s been more than ten years!”
After more than a decade together, the emo-rock group has sustained a strong fan base who shared the love right back to them. Throughout the show, the entire venue sang along to old fan-favorites such as “Act Appalled” and new songs like “The Amulet” from their latest 2017 LP.
Not only were Circa Survive spectacular, but their opening act, Foxing, was absolutely marvelous. This five-piece St. Louis-based band was over the moon to play for their Austin fans. “Austin is like the epitome of cool… Austin is like our New York… It means the world to us that you all came out tonight,” they said. The talented group put on an energizing set that was perfect for stimulating the crowd prior to the night’s main act.
Circa Survive and Foxing were the best combo to cleanse anyone’s pallet after a hectic week. This show was an oasis for a packed house of music-loving Austinites.
