ORANGE has found the best restaurants in the Austin area for owners and pooches alike to enjoy.

Austin is home of some of the best restaurants in America. It’s also home to some of the cutest dogs in America. Although many restaurants are welcoming to pups, some may not be so keen to letting furry friends dine with guests. ORANGE has compiled a list of the best dog-friendly restaurants to enjoy a meal with canine best friend.
1. Austin Terrier
If the name doesn’t say so already, Austin Terrier is very welcoming to dearly-loved pets. Austin Terrier serves pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads and more. Aside their handcrafted goodies, they bring water bowls and treats for pets on their dog-friendly patio. They also have the cutest dog decorations, which makes sense for a restaurant with a pup in the logo and name!
2. P. Terry’s
P.Terry’s knows what the locals want, and that includes bringing dogs everywhere. This famous Austin burger stand not only has delicious hormone-free, antibiotic free and vegetarian fed burgers, but free (huge) treats for dogs! These fast-food restaurants are also equipped with a drive-thru and outdoor patio.
3. Yard Bar
Yard Bar is the perfect mix of a restaurant, a bar and a dog park. They offer delicious food including shared snacks, soups, salads, and sandwiches. For furry friends, they offer a wide range including a hot dog, meatballs with gravy and even dog beer.There is a fee of $5.50 per dog a day, or the choice of an annual or monthly pass. These passes are $20 a month, or $200 a year. Make sure to read up on their rules before visiting!
4. Hopdoddy Burger Bar
Hopdoddy is a craft burger bar with a casual and modern ambiance. They offer various types of thick burgers with a wide range of toppings. The famous restaurant has patios at various locations, and have been known to bring out a tiny burger for pooches.
5. Crown & Anchor Pub
This Hyde Park/University area bar has been serving guests (and dogs) for over 25 years. The neighborhood bar has happy hour from 2-7pm on all craft beer, award winning grub, and free treats for canine friends! It’s a great place to watch a game with friends and a pup.
6. Ski Shores Waterfront Cafe
This Lake Austin waterfront restaurant is a great place to bring dogs with a shady patio, arcade games, a bar and a view. They serve burgers, salads, seafood and more. They also have movie nights every Friday! Grab a Border Burger, watch fish swim by and enjoy the beautiful view alongside a furry friend.
7. Pacha
Pacha is a cute and funky restaurant that serves unique and organic coffeehouse food. When you step in this restaurant, it feels like you’re stepping straight into Mexico City. Decorative floral tiles on the walls and beautifully painted tables make the experience that more aesthetically enjoyable. They’ll also bring water bowls for puppies on the front porch!
8. Taverna
Taverna serves amazing food, and is known to be very accommodating when it comes to pups. This bright and beautiful yet cozy restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. It feels like a fusion of Italian food with an Austin atmosphere. Looking for an upscale vibe to enjoy with pets? This may be the place!
9. Black Star Co-Op
This fun, large and industrial brewpub not only serves craft beer, but an assorted food menu varying throughout the day. . The picnic-style tables also have clips for leashes. Check out their events here.
10. Lucky Robot
The funky Japanese kitchen is a tasteful and innovative experience. If you’re looking for an eclectic Japanese experience, great nigiri and a unique menu, this is the place. If it doesn’t already sound fun enough, some of the tables even have swings for seats. They also have been known to let customers bring their dogs inside.
11. Maudie’s Milagro
This neighborhood Tex-Mex restaurant has the perfect patio for puppies. Located on the second floor of Davenport Village, the vibe is chill and family friendly. They also bring out water bowls for the pups.
12. Uncle Billy’s
A brewery with barbecue and a large tree shaded patio. They also might supply handmade dog biscuits! The cozy vibe makes for a fun day of beer and eats with friends.
13. Opal Divine’s Marina
Opal’s has a wide range of food including appetizers, house specialties and brunch plates of all kinds. The wood textured inside and outdoor patio makes for the Marina feel, as it’s stated in the name. This North Austin marvel even has a menu for pets! This menu includes froyo and sliders.
14. Shake Shack
The popular burger chain is very dog friendly. With a modern and fun vibe, it’s the perfect place to hangout with human and furry friends. They serve delicious burgers and custards. They even have a special custard for dogs called the Pooch-ini! The dessert made out of dog treats and vanilla custard is not intended for small dogs.
