South by Southwest is hands down the best destination to discover new bands. Enters Lowly.
Story by Hayli Rudolph
In the middle of chaos and leisure, Danish alt band, Lowly, brought a moment of clarity to the festival shenanigans on Monday, Mar.11. The five-piece band took the stage outside of the Fairgrounds on Congress and 1st for a day-time dreamy set. Vocalist and samples player, Soffie Viemose felts like something pulled straight from an Alice in Wonderland soundtrack, in the best way. Songs like “bagalans” are painted with colors of urgency with an overall tone of sleepy-calm.
Dual vocalist and guitarist, Nanna Schannong’s brought a lighter, rosy cheeked and crush-inducing vibe to the setlist. Her high euphoric voice made for a diverse set of sweet and strong vocals to complement Viemose’s leads.
If you haven’t check out Lowly before, make sure to add them to your bands to see this week. They’ll be playing a few more shows for South by Southwest that you won’t want to miss. Happy South by!
