As college students, we are always on the go. A club meeting today, two exams the next day, a part-time job every other day and don’t forget you have to squeeze in a workout throughout all of this. Getting to cook a meal is a rarity thanks to time’s unapologetic progress. However, getting the chance to make your own food can improve one’s mood and relieve stress.
Debbie Mandel, the author of “Addicted to Stress” says, “While stress can numb your senses, cooking activates them. It’s a sensory experience with aroma, taste, touch, visual delight, and even sizzling sound.” Amidst upcoming due dates and exams, finding a time to destress can be almost impossible to find. Taking full advantage of this small, yet euphoric space of time by filling it with music can further heighten the enjoyability of cooking.
Whether your meal plan consists of instant ramen, a simple pasta dish, or predetermined meal preps, listening to music can make the experience less mundane. ORANGE has curated a playlist that compliments perfectly with cooking.
