The playful pre-show banter quieted as the lights dimmed and the initial beats of Sam Smith’s “Money On My Mind” dropped through the speakers.

Austin Music Hall held numerous shows for Austin Fashion Week over the course of the past week and a half, including ‘Discover’ which showcased work from designers outside of the Austin area. The show, held last Thursday night, included designers from cities as close to Dallas and countries as far as Australia.
The night began with perusing the local vendors’ wears while sipping a few free San Pellegrinos before settling in to watch the show. The show started when the models powerfully took the runway in dark colors and bold florals by Tinsley Radix, a dynamic duo made up of Caitlyn Mullanix and Chelsea Brogdon who combined winter colors we love with fabulous spring patterns and flattering cuts. Loren Franco’s unique children’s couture pieces captured the attention of the audience, and Smith II made a statement with the bold lines and zippers exhibited in his minimalistic collection.
