On Saturday, Orange Magazine held a two-part panel — called “Journalism in Modern-Day Media: Can We Keep Up?” (CWKU) — of student, professor and professional journalists followed by presentations from Raw Paw and Citygram Magazine to discuss the modern-day direction of media. The first panel, comprised of students with backgrounds from a variety of media organizations, such as The Daily Texan, Longhorn Life, Texas Student Television, ORANGE Magazine and The Horn, covered issues specifically faced by collegiate journalists. The second panel featured professors from the University of Texas at Austin and writers and editors from The Austin-American Statesman, The Texas Tribune, Edible Austin, Austin Monthly Magazine and Naturally Fit Magazine. Also, lots of Kind Snacks bars made an appearance. Attendees gathered in the Texas Union Theatre to ask the hard-hitting questions and comment on the panels via a live Twitter feed projected onstage.

Download the App! It’s print-quality amazing-ness.
And #CWKU concluded with a seriously inspiring presentation from Austin’s Raw Paw, a media collective focused around print newspapers and zines. They made starting a successful business/creative community in college sound so easy.
So, if you’re an artist, don’t feel like you’re selling out.
The conference ended with one conclusion:
