The Scallywag – Torchy’s Tacos ($6)
Coconut Battered Shrimp with Cap’n Crunch, bacon, green chilies, pickled onions, chopped cilantro and peach habanero jam on a flour tortilla.
Though this taco has been featured as “taco of the month” regularly at Torchy’s, the addition of Cap’n Crunch cereal is unique to ACL and so outrageous, it just might work.
Kimchi Fries – Chi’Lantro ($10)
Beef bulgogi or vegetarian, with caramelized kimchi, cheddar and Monterey jack, onions, cilantro, magic sauce, sesame seeds and sriracha.
This dish can satisfy a craving for both Asian and Mexican food and piles together a ton of sweet, salty, savory and overall insanely flavor-packed ingredients.
The Waylon and Willie – Burro’s Cheese Kitchen ($9)
Sourdough, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, pepperoncinis and spicy maple bacon sauce.
This elevated grilled cheese sandwich balances creamy components with tart and spicy flavors to give you a sophisticated twist on an old classic.
Rabbit and Rattlesnake Sausage – Lonesome Dove Western Bistro ($8)
Feeling adventurous? Instead of only bragging to your friends about breathing the same air as Drake for a few hours, you’ll be able to truly impress them with the adventurous tale of how you tried this rustic, embodiment-of-the-west dish.
PB&J Whoopie Pie – Skull & Cakebones ($6)
Vanilla cake, peanut butter frosting and strawberry and grape jelly made from local Buddha’s Brew kombucha.
This Austin bakery boasts non-GMO ingredients as well as a vegan-only approach to their cupcakes, so this sweet treat will be something you can feel great about enjoying.
Tiffblitz – Tiff’s Treats ($5)
Blend of ice cream, cookies and brownies.
Tiff’s Treats cookies and brownies are legendary in Austin as it is, but in this concoction Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla is the ice cream base. Blue Bell + cookies + brownies = three desserts all wrapped into one delicious package.
These are only a few of many options that will be featured this year at ACL Eats, the fest’s food truck hot spot. Check out the ACL Eats page to browse the full list of vendors.
