Eighty thousand people ventured to Zilker Park over the weekend for Austin City Limits — a three-day extravaganza of live music, off-kilter fashion trends and probably a good deal of sunburn. While the festival grabs the lion’s share of headlines, it wasn’t the only noteworthy event taking place in the city. On Saturday, local record label and creative collective Raw Paw threw their eighth annual Ditch the Fest Fest at Empire Control Room and Garage. The event was an all-day celebration of local talent that included live music, Henna tattoos, a “DIY photo booth” and even an alien costume contest. Raw Paw will set up shop at Empire again this Saturday for their next installment of Ditch the Fest Fest. The line-up will be different, but the excitement is all the same.
