While other parts of the country are dealing with feet of snow, hurricanes and cloudy, grey skies, Austin is still in bloom.

The Zilker Botanical Gardens, located near the Mo-Pac entrance to Zilker Park, contain 31 acres of nature, with something blooming almost year round. With roses, herbs, historic barns and a recreation of a dinosaur habitat, the botanical gardens are a colorful oasis, even in the winter.
On November 15, fifty years passed since the Austin City Council allocated space for the gardens in Zilker Park. The grounds were premiered in 1963 and have been budding and blooming ever since.

Adult admission is $2.
