Girl power took Austin by storm last week when female-fronted bands Bleached, Mothers, Eskimeaux and Frankie Cosmos came to town.

Bleached brought their punky, rainbow-haired performance to the Sidewinder’s outdoor stage in support of their new record, “Welcome The Worms,” with daisies adorning the stage that so many fans dove off of. Athens, Georgia-based band Mothers performed their sometimes quiet, sometimes howling ballads on Stubb’s intimate indoor stage. The week ended with a sold-out Frankie Cosmos show inside the Sidewinder, opened up by Eskimeaux and Anna McClellan. Frankie fans sang along with old favorites like “Buses Splash with Rain” and jammed to the band’s newest album, “Next Thing.”
