Gone is the age of condescending, low-quality cash grabs written exclusively by 40-year-olds for teenagers. Director Halina Reijn’s latest is a slasher film called Bodies Bodies Bodies. The blend of directing, acting, and screenplay sets this film apart from its uninventive predecessors by earning and maintaining its audiences’ attention throughout the movie in nuanced and unexpected ways.
Voting means a lot of different things to different people. Sometimes, it can be overwhelming and difficult to decipher between various candidates and policies; other times, it feels wholly pointless to vote, especially for communities whose voices are regularly ignored by the government.
I circle the block a few times before finally giving up and resigning myself to a spot along a residential street about four blocks from the coffee shop. Try Hard Coffee on East 11th Street usually closes by 3 p.m., but tonight it is open and throbbing with energy. A DJ in the corner spins vinyl records. Bartenders on the back patio shake up Negronis and crack beers. I hear somewhere there are tacos, but I never find out where. Packing this tiny cafe from end to end are baristas, ready to compete in tonight’s event: Thursday Night Throwdown.

The Hancock Center HEB is a grocery store staple for students of the University of Texas at Austin. It’s a failsafe, tried-and-true, one-stop-shop. However, recently I have been wanting some variety. Whether that means diversifying produce picks or simply getting the opportunity to try some new snacks, the city of Austin provides an assortment of ethnic and micro-grocers for one to choose from.
There is something beautiful about the timing of nature. Its organic movement drives effortless change all around, and reminds me that things are meant to come in their own time.
Used clothing stores are good for the environment because they keep clothes out of landfills while saving you money with their reasonable prices. But, can the same be said about independent vintage aggregation and resale? The short answer: it depends.
