My Black UT Matters is a campus-wide photo campaign and event hosted by Students for Equity and Diversity that aims to create an inclusive and reflective space for black students at the University of Texas at Austin.

Hair acts as a distinguishable feature that makes them instantly recognizable, but in many cases having curly hair holds a negative connotation. Despite social pressures, these four women have embraced their natural curly hair.

From April 11 to 13, Students for Equity and Diversity will bring back Campus Fusion, a festival focused on making the University of Texas at Austin more inclusive.
