We’ve all been there before: It’s Saturday night and you’ve already endured an adventure on Sixth Street followed by a donut or two at Voodoo. And then you remember that girls’ brunch is tomorrow morning.

It feels like you’ve already consumed a weekend’s worth of sugar, but you’d hate to flake out on your friends. Instead of skipping brunch, check out this list of local restaurants that serve healthy brunch options.
For the Omelet Lover — South Congress Café
Located on the South Congress strip, this café is all sorts of cute. Opt for its spinach, portabello and artichoke omelet made with fresh, local farm eggs. Don’t hold the smoked gouda potato pancake. Your body will be begging for some carbs after last night. Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For the Greek Yogurt and Granola Lover — Blue Dahlia Bistro
This European-inspired nook is huddled away in the neighborhoods of East Austin. It has three options for your inner Greek goddess: the first is Greek yogurt topped with fresh berries, the second is homemade granola and berries, and the third option is a lovely yogurt parfait with berries.
For the French Toast Lover — Olivia
Once you’re done drooling over Olivia’s menu, direct your eyes to its French toast option. This get-up includes brioche bread, pears and your choice of vanilla or coffee syrup. This dish even comes in a half-order, making it delicious with only half the guilt. Ask for the syrup on the side, this way you can control how much sugar you’re adding. Drizzle a little on top and you’ll be amazed at how little you need.
For the (Classy) Breakfast Taco Lover — Magnolia Café
Located on South Congress and Lake Austin Boulevard, Magnolia Café serves breakfast 24/7. Order two Garden Breakfast Tacos. Filled with steamed spinach, potatoes, pico and some cheese, these tacos ought to hit the spot. Ask for the cheese on the side and sprinkle on a little yourself. Cheese is high in saturated fat and shouldn’t be eaten in large portions.
For the Picky Eater — Juniper
If you’re a little picky and like to control your morning meals, then you’ve come to the right place. Located on Cesar Chavez, Juniper offers a lovely aesthetic and a selection of a la carte choices ready for you to pick and choose. If you’re trying to keep it light but still filling, opt for the oak grilled bread with butter and two farm eggs cooked however you like. Don’t be afraid to have some butter on that bread. Although it’s not something you should indulge in too often, having some butter here and there won’t set you back.
