On Saturday, 50,000 people joined together on Capitol grounds for the largest march in the city and, as one of the speakers said at the event, the largest gathering of women in Texas history. The historic march took place the day following the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States. Despite recent turmoil across the country, the crowds at the march were filled with love, solidarity and acceptance. Singers and speakers filled the Capitol lawn with music and words of strength. Young children flooded the lawn with their moms and dads, many attending their first march with their first handmade protest sign, ready to stand up for what they believe in even at their young ages.
In case you missed the Women’s March, here’s a glimpse at what went on at the Capitol on Saturday.
