Everyone has their own approach to makeup that makes them feel their best. Here are a few different ways that these girls achieve their daily looks.

Makeup has become an everyday routine for many of individuals. For some, it’s little-to-no makeup, while others take an hour and a half with a plethora of products. For these three girls, a range of makeup styles, products and methods demonstrate their thoughts on beauty, and how it makes them feel.
Senior Athletic Training major Karla Gomez wears makeup as an everyday ritual.

“I feel better about myself, and it’s a nice time in the morning to slow down.”
Gomez touches most of the basics in her routine. With a light foundation, like Lancôme’s BB cream, a touch of bronzer, blush, and highlight, she takes pride in her complexion and usually invests in high-end brands.
Her go-to look for when she is running late is curling her lashes and adding a little mascara to look more awake. Overall, Gomez’s look is classic and simple with a focus on having flawless skin.

Savannah Olson is seen wearing a light makeup look.
Junior Journalism student Savannah Olson is all about the looking like a “glowy, ethereal goddess.” She only uses a few products on the regular for an effortless look, like Glossier’s Balm Dotcom, Boy Brow and Cloud Paint.
After dealing with bad acne in the past, Olson also puts an emphasis on her skin. Skincare is the first step in her routine. After using an exfoliant and a cleanser regularly to prep her face, she takes care of her base, then builds it up.
Although Olson doesn’t wear makeup every day, her favorite product to use to add a bit of something special is Glossier’s Haloscope Highlighter and Fenty Beauty’s Lipstick in an orange shade.
“I am more comfortable not changing my face, but I like adding little touches to it to enhance,” Olson says. “I am comfortable in my own skin, but makeup is just my little boost of confidence.”
Milena Sophia Cuellar is enjoying her fresh and fun makeup look at Space 24 on Guadalupe Street.
Milena Sophia Cuellar, a Corporate Communications major, rarely wears anything on her face. On a typical day, Cuellar doesn’t wear makeup but focuses on her skin by using a moisturizer.But when she does wear makeup, she focuses on her lips and eyes with OG products like Maybelline’s Great Lash and an E.L.F. lip stick.
Cuellar’s take on makeup as it relates to beauty is to “enhance your own features,” but when not wearing makeup “being comfortable with a bare face.” After feeling like makeup was a necessity during her high school years, Cuellar shifted her point of view from “needing makeup to wanting it.”
Makeup has creative freedom like any other art form. It creates emotion and sets a tone, but it is all in the hands of the artist. These everyday artists, Gomez, Olson, and Cuellar, have the power to change how they feel and shift their mood.
